Why publish your cookbook yourself?

I decided to self publish my own book for one main reason: because I wanted to keep all of my profits! After all my hard work and effort I didn't want to give all of my profits away to a publisher, who wouldn't do much to promote it anyway. You should be thinking the same thing.
